Brunch, spas, and city lights.
On a beautiful and sunny Los Angeles day I received a little box at my door with an invitation for a complimentary trip to Vegas. The invitation invited me to a luxurious experience at the Aria Resort & Casino along with daily spa experiences at different locations all over The Strip.
The moment I read "spa experiences" I was in. If you know me, you know this girl gets down with a good ol' spa experience, and daily? Yes please!
This was an extra special invitation for me because If you didn't know, I am from Vegas. Well, I'm from Henderson. Which is like 15 minutes from the Vegas you know and love. I always just say I'm from Vegas because no one knows where Henderson, NV is. Anyways, this was a special invitation because it felt like I came full circle. I moved out of Las Vegas at 18 and now, at 27, Vegas is inviting me back because of this career I started from the ground up.
I thought, well I've never seen Vegas as a tourist (the very best way to see it, of course) so I packed up my bags and was on my way to the city of lights.
My first morning in Vegas I had to indulge. When you're in Vegas, you have to indulge in everything. That's the whole point. See, Vegas is the place that has no rules (I mean laws still apply, obvi you don't want to end up in jail) but I mean the rules you set for yourself. So, I did what any girl staying in a stunning suite by herself would do, I ordered the red velvet pancakes all for myself. And I loved every minute of it.
Once I was properly stuffed like a turkey on Thanksgiving, it was time for my first spa experience. But wait, theres more..
I was picked up in a LIMO.. yes people, A LIMO took me to a spa appointment. It's not every day you get an experience like this, so I didn't ask any questions and just went with it.
The first spa experience was at the Sahra Spa & Hamman at The Cosmopolitan. When arriving to the spa, I was welcomed by a beautiful, dramatic passage leading to a warmly lit waterfall at the top of the hallway. The moment I arrived I removed my clothing and wrapped myself in a thick and cozy robe. After relaxing for a bit and having a cup of tea I headed into my massage appointment. I experienced the Balance & Harmony massage. It was a mix of Swedish technique and stone massage and guys, let's just say it was just what I needed. I felt like jello, in the best way possible.
It was time to grab a bite at the Lago at Bellagio. I had heard so much about this place and I was so ready to go check it out myself. The moment I arrived to the table, I was stunned by the view. If you've ever seen the Bellagio water show, you know how beautiful it is to watch the water dance with the music. This time, I had the best view of the show possible. I sat back, relaxed, ate a delicious meal, and tried a couple different cocktail options on the menu.
It was about that time for a quick power nap to help me get through the evening plans.
Massage + good meal = a mandatory nap.
Getting out of bed at the Aria is quite difficult I must say, but dinner plans at Twist , in the Mandarin Oriental, is worth peeling yourself out of the sheets for. Twist is the only venue in the United States where you can experience the incredible cuisine of Chef Pierre Gagnaire.
When approaching the restaurant you are welcomed by a beautiful fluttering butterfly art piece hanging from the ceiling. I was mesmerized by this to say the least. I spent more time than I'd like to admit standing there staring straight up at the beautiful masterpiece.
After dinner it was time to grab a drink at The Chandelier Bar in the Cosmopolitan.
This place is surrounded by beautiful chandeliers hanging in every corner. if you come here you have to try the Verbena cocktail. This drink is topped of with a flower called the "Szechaun Button." This flower will numb your tongue and entire mouth. Yes, I was terrified when I was told this, but everyone was doing it so I had to try it (peer pressure at it's finest.) The drink has a lemonade vibe to it, and when you bite into the flower your mouth will experience an explosion of sensations. Honestly, this cocktail is not to be missed during a trip to Las Vegas. It's a unique experience, and everybody's doing it. ;) (jk if you're really scared don't do it, but make someone else you're with try it so you can watch their face when there mouth goes numb.)
The following morning it was time for another bright and early spa experience. After a cup of coffee I headed straight back to The Mandarin Oriental, but this time to the Spa. I did not have a treatment appointment here but had the opportunity to dip in the heated pools, and take a little nap on the relaxation lounges with a view of the strip. I have to say, this was the most stunning spa I have ever been inside. This would be such a great spa for a couples experience. It has a romantic vibe to it and feels so luxurious. They have private couple's suites that I am definitely going to check out next time I'm there.
I have heard so many great things about Giada Restaurant and couldn't wait to check it out. If you're going to brunch in Vegas, do so at Giada. We got a bunch of different dishes for the table, family style, and everything was unreal. Also, makes for very cute brunch photos.
After brunch at Giada, I had another spa appointment, I was at more spas in a couple days than I have been to in my lifetime. I am not complaining, I was happily going with it.
My treatment was at the Reliquary Spa located at the Hard Rock. I went in for the Sweet Melody treatment. This is a treatment I would highly recommend. As I laid on the comfy spa table, warm water fell from the ceiling while the spa attendant rubbed a blend of sugar and essential oils my body. I have never experienced anything quit like this. It was unbelievably relaxing. I walked out of the appointment glowing and my skin had never felt softer.
Then it was time to end my stay with a must-do in Vegas. The High Roller ferris wheel at the LINQ. This is not your typical ferris wheel though. Actually it's nothing like a ferris wheel at all. It an observation-wheel, the biggest in world at 550 ft. The experience is about 30 minutes long (make sure you use the bathroom before heading in.) You can walk around the little glass bubble, drink in hand, and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.
Then it was time to say peace out to Las Vegas. I'll be back soon for another indulging, relaxing, and luxurious experience!
