Exploring Kauai

Hello beautiful souls! I am so happy to be back up and running with a new blog post today. It’s been a minute, I know — I look forward to getting back on track with the blog. Today’s post is all about our recent trip to Kauai! We had the best unplug week there and I’m here to share some of my favorite photos and activities from the trip.

Wailua Falls - this might be my favorite activity we did on the trip. We took a kayak (rented one from our Airbnb host for $40) and kayaked through the Wailua river to get to a very muddy hiking trail, which lead us to a 173 foot waterfall located near Lihue.

It was a messy hiking path — lots of mud and pretty slippery, but it was well worth it. This waterfall is magical.

Advice: Make sure to wear sneakers, hiking boots, or sandals with strong straps. Flip flops are not a good option because the mud will pull those babies right off your feet.

Next up — Waimea Canyon. There are a lot of options to spend time near Waimea Canyon. You can do a 3 mile hike all the way up to an 11 mile one depending on what you are looking for. If a hike is not your cup of tea you can see the gorgeous view of the waterfall from pretty much anywhere once you drive up to the top of the mountain. I would highly recommend to do a little trek through. We did a 3 mile hike and saw some incredible views.

A quick little kiss overlooking Waimea Canyon mid-hike.

Of course the beach is a must-do on Kauai. My favorite beach spot is called The Hideaway in Princeville. The water is a crystal clear teal and so stunning— you can snorkel, swim, or surf here. Make sure to wear some sandals with straps here too — there’s a pretty steep hike down to the shore.

I had the absolute best time turning 30 on one of the most beautiful islands I’ve ever been to. Hope you all enjoyed this quick and simple blog post with some of the highlights from our trip — love you all to the moon and back! :)
